The Library Snug....
The small room to the right of the hallway as you enter the house will make a perfect Snug/Library. With the walls decked in books and an open fireplace, and simple pieces of furniture like a striking chaise long and a comfy window seat.
Notes for library:
Find and fit hearth and mantel place, build shelving and window seat, paint floor. Source furniture, decor and lighting.
Chaise Long, Upholstered window seat, 2x small occasional tables.
Mantle, hearth, wood basket and pokers.
1x central pendant- possibly modern style chandelier, 3 to 4 lamps
Painted, 1x large rug
A few vases and small collection of sculpture to space out on shelves between books, 1 x large framed painting/drawing above mantle (possibly an image of Rooks as a gentle nod to those that were evicted from the chimley!)
The Utility/Boot Room....
This room will get so much use so we need to think through the best way to make the most of the space.
Places to store things like coats, bags, boots and shoes etc but also cleaning stuffs like hoovers, brooms and mops. Plus plenty of high shelving for those things you don't need every day.
We need to make the most of this space...it's a wonderful luxury to have one and be one of the most useful room in the home.
Making floor to ceiling storage and including pigeon hole spaces for boots and shoes will help keep things in order and organised.
Wether we have a washer and a dryer or a washer and a fridge or freezer there is enough room for everything as long as we plan it out well.
These are always handy, especially on those damp cornish days.
The stone floor in the hallway will carry on through to the utility easy for muddy boots and paws....
Notes for Utility Room:
Design and create a plan for the space and build shelving.
We need to look at the best options.
Continuation of hallway stone flooring.
Clean, simple and with some tiles where needed.
